Bug books on the way to regional NSW

SPECIAL COVID-19 GRANT ROUND RECIPIENT

Thanks to Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, the KIDS Foundation will soon be delivering 650 packs (26,000 books) of SeeMore Bug Safety Books - the tiny germs we can't see' books to children attending an early education learning centre in regional NSW.

The grants were made available to organisations that have been impacted by COVID-19 to enable projects that address specific community hardship as a result of the pandemic.

Susie O'Neill, Founder and CEO of the KIDS Foundation says the project addresses the preschool educators concerns of COVID-19 safety messages not reaching all children.

"We are sending the ‘SeeMore Bug Safety; the tiny germs we can’t see’ book to 26,000 regional NSW preschool children free of charge. We have also had the resource translated into four languages to ensure that every child has access to information that enables them to keep themselves and others safe."

"COVID-19 has forced us to do things differently, be creative and react quickly, at a time when demand on our resources has never been so stretched. Our capabilities of raising our usual annual income of just under one million dollars, made up of donations (down 90%), events (all cancelled) and regular grant opportunities (limited) has been challenged."

"Thank you NPCF for making this grant possible."
