Icons of Australian racing. Champions for KIDS Foundation families.๐งก๐
Waterhouse Bott Racing brought their world-class racing legacy, and their generosity, to Tour d'Horse. From championing KIDS Foundation throughout the year to riding alongside the children and families KIDS Foundation exists to support, the team embraced every opportunity to make a genuine difference.
At the heart of the team was Captain Eden, whose enthusiasm, kindness and infectious spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. As the big sister of a little girl living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Eden knows what it means to cheer her sister on every day. Eden also reminds us that siblings need support, and the chance to simply be kids too.
Spending time with Eden and other KIDS Foundation families gave the Waterhouse Bott Racing team a deeper understanding of how trauma, injury and disabling health conditions affect not only the individual, but siblings, parents, and carers as well. It was a powerful reminder of why KIDS Foundation creates opportunities for the whole family to reconnect, build confidence and find hope together.
Thank you to Gai Waterhouse, Adrian Bott, Emma Coleman, Hamish McLachlan and the entire Waterhouse Bott Racing team for once again standing beside KIDS Foundation with such compassion and generosity. Because of you, more children, young people and families will recover, and create brighter futures.
And Hamish... while Gai may have sent you out to ride for the win, we have a feeling she'd be just as proud of what you won instead, the hearts of the KIDS Foundation families. Thank you for throwing yourself into every moment, embracing every conversation and helping take Tour d'Horse to another level.
Because the most meaningful journeys are never measured in kilometres, but in the lives they help change. ๐งก๐
