Returning to represent the Victorian Jockeys' Association, reigning Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Jamie Melham and Ben Melham were proud to once again ride in support of KIDS Foundation.

Fellow champion jockey Rachel King also took part in Tour d'Horse as a rider for the KIDS Foundation team, highlighting the wider racing community's commitment to standing behind children, young people and families.

For Jamie, it was meeting the children and families supported by KIDS Foundation that stayed with her most.

"You think you're having a bad day, but seeing these kids and what they've been through puts everything into perspective."

Tour d'Horse also highlighted the impact the VJA and KIDS Foundation continue to create together, supporting jockeys and their families through life's toughest moments.

Welcoming Lucy Holland and her four children back to KIDS Foundation for their second family recovery camp was one of the week's most meaningful moments. Seeing them embraced by the Tour d'Horse family was a powerful reminder that recovery is built through connection, compassion and knowing you never have to face life's challenges alone.

That is why the VJA's involvement matters. By partnering with KIDS Foundation, the racing community is not only helping children and families facing unimaginable challenges, but also ensuring its own is supported when it matters most.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who got behind the VJA team. Every donation, every message of encouragement and every act of generosity helped create lasting impact for children, young people and families rebuilding their lives after trauma, injury and disabling health conditions.
