The Victorian Jockeys Association (VJA) provides support for jockeys, ensuring safe, productive and sustainable careers. The VJA is dedicated to jockeys welfare, offering high level professional and confidential supports, as well as promoting jockeys interests on and off track and advocating on their behalf. The VJA is excited to partner with the KIDS Foundation and join this year's Tour d'Horse with its own team which will include champion jockeys Jamie Melham and Ben Melham. As part of this year's Tour d'Horse, the VJA and the KIDS Foundation will launch JOCKEYS ARE FAMILY FUND - VJA. This fund will be dedicated to growing the support network for jockeys injured (and their families) in the racing industry in order to aid their recovery and improve their quality of life. The goal being to lay a foundation for autonomy, happiness and social connections. The racing industry plays a major role in supporting the KIDS Foundation's Tour d'Horse. By establishing the JOCKEYS ARE FAMILY program focused on family support, the KIDS Foundation can give back by building on our existing infrastructure.
