Michael Freedman Racing is proud to support the KIDS Foundation in their second year of running Tour d'Horse. Our Racing Manager, Sophie Johnson will saddle up for the second time to contest in the ride. Last year, partnering up alongside Freedman Racing, Sophie managed a staggering $42,500 in donations - this year team MFR are flying solo and want to go one better! This year Sophie partners up with Communist, a 5yo gelding (Russian Revolution x Cappadocia) who has only recently (8th March) retired off the track. Communist was originally purchased at the 2021 Inglis Classic Yearling Sales and went on to be trained under Michael Freedman Racing. He won the 2023 Randwick Guineas and accumulated over $1.1 million in prizemoney throughout his career. He is now living a happy retired life with Sophie, and we can't wait to see them tackle Tour d’Horse 2025 together for team MFR! This is a fantastic event where we are not just supporting a wonderful organisation who dedicate themselves in creating a safer community for the children of Australia, but we are also supporting and showcasing our off the track thoroughbreds in aid of finding them the homes they deserve in their new lives after racing. Please join us in supporting Tour d'Horse 2025!
