Why are we fundraising

The Victorian Jockey’s Association (VJA) is delighted to announce its partnership with the KIDS Foundation for Tour d’Horse 2026. Last year, Jamie and Ben Melham proudly represented the VJA, helping to surpass the charity’s $1 million goal. This partnership goes beyond fundraising; the KIDS Foundation played a crucial role in establishing the JOCKEYS ARE FAMILY FUND - VJA, which provides vital support to injured jockeys and their families within the racing community. In 2025, the generous funds raised from the Tour d’Horse allowed the KIDS Foundation to make a significant impact on the lives of 300,000 children and families through its Recovery and Education Programs. This includes the family of the late Dean Holland, a beloved jockey who tragically lost his life while racing in 2023. We are grateful for your continued support of the VJA and our fundraising efforts to assist the KIDS Foundation.
