Why are we fundraising

The MRC Foundation is eagerly anticipating the return of the Tour d’Horse 2026 and is thrilled to continue supporting the KIDS Foundation. Together, we are united with others in the racing industry to help the KIDS Foundation reach their goal of $1 million. For over three decades, the KIDS Foundation has been a beacon of hope for families who have endured unimaginable trauma. Each year, they reach over 300,000 individuals through their comprehensive injury and trauma recovery programs, as well as their vital safety education and wellbeing programs for children aged 3 to 6 years. The MRC Foundation is back in the saddle for the third consecutive year, with MRC Friend, Demi Brereton, taking on this year's Tour d'Horse. With a lifelong connection to horses and racing, Brereton is a natural fit to represent the MRC Foundation in this year's event. She is the daughter of Group 1-winning jockey Danny Brereton and Debbie Brereton, a former Hong Kong equestrian coach, and has become a familiar face at key MRC events including the Sportsbet Caulfield Cup Carnival and Caulfield's Summer Carnival. Established in 2015 the MRC Foundation exists to make the world a better place. Since its inception the MRC foundation has contributed more than $6 million dollars to support a diverse range of programs and initiatives within racing, equine welfare and the community. Working in collaboration with the Melbourne Racing Club, members, sponsors and our charity partners, the MRC Foundation strives to create lasting change and meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve. The MRC Foundation continues to go from strength to strength as we deliver our key fundraising initiatives and further establishing itself as a passionate supporter of charity, racing, equine welfare and the community.
