Why am I fundraising

Horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandmother Eva had me on our family pony, Judy, before I could even walk, and growing up in Ireland, horses were at the centre of everything we did. My family bred and raced National Hunt horses, which sparked my lifelong passion for the thoroughbred and the racing industry. For the past 14 years, I’ve been proud to be part of the team at James Harron Bloodstock, sharing in the journeys of many extraordinary horses along the way. I first rode in the KIDS Foundation’s Tour d’Horse in 2025, and it changed me. Meeting the children and families supported by the KIDS Foundation, hearing their stories of trauma, injury, burns and survival, was truly life-changing. Despite facing challenges no child ever should, their courage, optimism and resilience left a permanent mark on my heart. I knew I had return. In May 2026, I will once again take on this incredible challenge: a six-day, close to 200km endurance event across the Upper Hunter Valley, riding retrained, retired racehorses. Tour d’Horse is far more than just a ride, it is an opportunity to help children rebuild their lives after trauma while championing meaningful second careers for the horses we love. This year, my goal is to raise $30,000 for the KIDS Foundation. Every kilometre I complete and every dollar you give helps fund life-changing programs that provide recovery, therapy, confidence and long-term support for some of Australia’s most vulnerable young people.
